\n<\/strong>Francesco Damiani solo exhibition<\/p>\n

The organic\u00a0sculptures\u00a0of Francesco Damiani stretch out\u00a0towards\u00a0the\u00a0space\u00a0creating\u00a0a\u00a0dialogue\u00a0with the\u00a0spectator. The ensemble of full and\u00a0empty\u00a0volumes\u00a0tells\u00a0a story,\u00a0it\u00a0tells\u00a0both\u00a0intimate and far\u00a0tales.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0abstraction\u00a0of the\u00a0subject\u00a0shapes\u00a0itself\u00a0and\u00a0goes\u00a0beyond\u00a0itself, the lines\u00a0become\u00a0words, the\u00a0geometry\u00a0becomes\u00a0paragraphs\u00a0reorganised\u00a0into\u00a0personal\u00a0diaries.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0sculpture\u00a0comes\u00a0out of the idea of\u00a0its\u00a0static\u00a0nature and\u00a0heaviness\u00a0to turn\u00a0into\u00a0light\u00a0suspensions, made by\u00a0modules\u00a0that\u00a0dovetail\u00a0and reverberate\u00a0each\u00a0other,\u00a0modifying\u00a0themselves\u00a0in time and\u00a0space.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0used\u00a0materials\u00a0are\u00a0playful\u00a0in\u00a0their\u00a0colours\u00a0and textures\u00a0as\u00a0they\u00a0are\u00a0experienced\u00a0by\u00a0our\u00a0sight\u00a0and touch.\u00a0They\u00a0evoke\u00a0our\u00a0childhood.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0artist\u00a0uses\u00a0a large\u00a0amount\u00a0of cellulose and rubber\u00a0dough, the \u201clight\u00a0clay\u201d\u00a0employed\u00a0by\u00a0children\u00a0in\u00a0Orient\u00a0to\u00a0achieve\u00a0familiarity\u00a0with\u00a0clay.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Damiani\u00a0uses\u00a0secondary\u00a0shades\u00a0to\u00a0represent\u00a0light\u00a0through\u00a0its\u00a0refraction.\u00a0Colours,\u00a0which\u00a0are the\u00a0result\u00a0of a\u00a0perceptual\u00a0illusion,\u00a0grab\u00a0the\u00a0contemporary\u00a0world\u00a0vibrations\u00a0and\u00a0they\u00a0infuse\u00a0its\u00a0tremor.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0chemical\u00a0studies of Damiani\u00a0influence\u00a0the artworks\u00a0appearance\u00a0with\u00a0references\u00a0to\u00a0cellular\u00a0morphology,\u00a0thin\u00a0layers\u00a0of\u00a0organised\u00a0matter\u00a0and\u00a0evolutionary\u00a0forms\u00a0that\u00a0interrogate the\u00a0limit\u00a0between\u00a0organic and living\u00a0being.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0sculptures\u00a0integrate and\u00a0perfectly\u00a0conform\u00a0to the\u00a0surroundings,\u00a0revolutionising\u00a0the\u00a0space\u00a0and\u00a0blending\u00a0with\u00a0it\u00a0into\u00a0one,\u00a0creating\u00a0novel\u00a0shapes\u00a0for the\u00a0specific\u00a0set-up.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0exhibition\u00a0title\u00a0is\u00a0inspired\u00a0by the\u00a0homonymous\u00a0Dua\u00a0Lipa\u2019s\u00a0song\u00a0to\u00a0refer\u00a0to the pop\u00a0inspiration\u00a0of the\u00a0artist,\u00a0revealed\u00a0by\u00a0colours,\u00a0playfulness\u00a0and\u00a0lightness\u00a0of\u00a0his\u00a0artworks.\u00a0They\u00a0are so\u00a0lightweight\u00a0that\u00a0they\u00a0become\u00a0alive\u00a0and levitate in the air.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0exhibition\u00a0subheading\u00a0\u201cSuspensions\u201d\u00a0is\u00a0a cross\u00a0reference\u00a0to Jhon\u00a0Cage\u2019s\u00a0suspensions\u00a0(The\u00a0silence, 1961) and\u00a0refers\u00a0to the\u00a0chemical\u00a0meaning\u00a0of the word. A\u00a0suspension\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0dispersion, an\u00a0heterogeneous\u00a0blend, in\u00a0which\u00a0a\u00a0solid\u00a0phase\u00a0with\u00a0microscopic\u00a0particle\u00a0dimension\u00a0dissolves\u00a0into\u00a0a\u00a0dispersed\u00a0liquid\u00a0phase\u00a0which\u00a0is\u00a0not\u00a0able\u00a0to\u00a0sediment\u00a0in a short\u00a0period\u00a0of time.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0artist\u2019s\u00a0personal\u00a0interpretation\u00a0of the\u00a0suspension\u00a0is\u00a0wait,\u00a0judgement\u00a0postponement,\u00a0it\u00a0means\u00a0also\u00a0the capability of\u00a0being\u00a0not\u00a0in a rush, to trust\u00a0others\u00a0and\u00a0ourselves, to concede\u00a0freedom\u00a0as\u00a0his\u00a0artworks are a\u00a0freedom\u00a0symbol.<\/span><\/p>\n

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY<\/h4>\n

Francesco\u00a0Damiani\u00a0was\u00a0born\u00a0in\u00a0Bari,\u00a0is\u00a0now\u00a0working in Emilia.\u00a0He\u00a0studied\u00a0chemistry\u00a0at\u00a0Bari University\u00a0and\u00a0at\u00a0Fiat\u00a0Research\u00a0Center in Torino.\u00a0Art and design\u00a0enthusiastic,\u00a0he\u00a0attended\u00a0Tam\u00a0Tam\u00a0school of\u00a0Guerriero,\u00a0Mendini\u00a0and\u00a0Dalisi\u00a0in Milan.\u00a0He\u00a0has\u00a0been\u00a0a\u00a0collector\u00a0adviser in\u00a0the design\u00a0field.\u00a0Currently,\u00a0he\u00a0dedicates\u00a0himself\u00a0to\u00a0teaching\u00a0and art.<\/p>\n
